International Nativity Sets

When I was visiting an International Nativity Set display at the Washington DC Temple Visitor's Center this week, I noticed that many of the sets displayed came from countries where a member of my extended family has served a mission. I thought it would be fun to document these sets, so here we go:

This set comes from Thailand, where Hans served his mission.

Here is a Guatemala set, which is where Curtis served.

Right under it was a set from Taiwan, Erick's mission country.

A set from Argentina, where Rachelle served.

This unique set comes from Hong Kong, which is Erin's mission country.

For Anna and Buck, this set comes from Armenia.

Amanda served in Brazil. Here is a set from that country.

For Shellie and Juan, a set from Chile.

Here is a set from Mexico, Taran's country of missionary service.

And for all of us who didn't go to a foreign country, here's a set from the United States. (Mom & Dad--Illinois & Texas; Chris--New York; Victoria--New Mexico; Daniel--California; Sam--Utah; Timo--Texas; Amy--Alabama; Nathan--Connecticut; Annette--North Carolina; Frank--Montana & Washington; Scott--Utah; and Tanner--Arizona)

There were a few countries that weren't represented in this display. One of them was Finland, the country where Tim served his mission. However, I remembered seeing a set from Finland in a previous year so I looked back through my pictures and actually found two! This set was in the 2012 display:

And this one was in the 2013 display:

The only country I couldn't find was England. (Sorry, Dan! Maybe next year!)

Now I know Ben thinks I have forgotten him, but I haven't. I just want to finish up with Germany because there was not one, not two, but THREE sets from Germany in this year's display:

I think it is awesome that among our family members, we have covered so much of the globe in our missionary service!

(This is actually Ben...)

I didn't think you'd forgotten me (well, not until you said the only country you couldn't find was England), it was more "Really? Nothing from Germany?"

The pyramid looks a lot like the one I have (except mine has taken a bit of a beating over the last 20 years...)

this is so cool! I loved that you found one for almost everyone! The Hong kong one is the most unique I think. It would be fun to see this one year in person.
